During 1966, Bud Bushnell founded Genie Industries. During that time, he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift that operated on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" which was used to lower and raise the hoist. This mechanism really impressed lots of clients and therefore, the name was born.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into various new markets, since the demand for platforms and work lifts grew. Over time, when the demand for new equipment to meet many applications grew, the company made itself recognized in numerous new markets. For instance, Genie went into manufacturing man-lifts, articulated booms, light towers stick booms and telehandlers.
Due to the economic downturn during the start of the 2000s, Genie decided to acquire a partner who had the same values. They partnered up together with Terex Corporation. This company has a history obtaining equipment manufacturers across the globe who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
In the early years after the sale, it was determined to maintain the Genie brand within the Terex Aerial Work Platforms or AWP segment of Terex, because of the name's solid reputation within the marketplace. Thus, all Genie equipment continue to be sold under the Genie brand.
Genie takes pride in listening to their customers. The company is devoted to continually improving quality and efficiency and is also dedicated to lessening waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on offering outstanding support. These are the very work disciplines that have made Genie a trusted brand name over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality machinery.
Genie's Bi-Energy and DC machines are emission-free, quiet equipment capable of working in delicate work environments. Where the machine should be driven significant distances, such as in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator with the advantages of a 48V DC machine.
As opposed to any of the different kinds of aerial platforms, telescopic booms provide greater horizontal reach overall. These equipment are great for limited access areas in construction and other industrial environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to offer utmost productivity. These machines provide the drive speed and supreme traction you need in order to travel around the work site and job area.
