How to Charge a Scissor Lift
There is a great convenience when using a scissor lift, as the convenience of working and the lift basket's security provides peace of mind when trying to perform tasks which would have otherwise needed utilizing the rung of a ladder. The safety risks involved with this machinery make it the best option for completing tasks from heights.
Nearly all scissor lifts are powered electrically by batteries that have been mounted directly onto the machine. These batteries would have to be charged following a long shift or after sitting for extended periods without use. It is a simple job to charge the batteries. This could be done without any particular tools or equipment and requires no heavy labor.
The equipment needs to be positioned next to an electrical output so as to prepare the scissor lift for charging. This charging area must also be in a well-ventilated place. Next, in order to prevent another operator from driving away with the lift plugged in, press the emergency shut-off switch. The emergency shut off switch is the big red button situated near the control box or the charger, in the lift basket. Find the battery charger on the base of the lift on the right side. Often, models that are older would have the charger mounted on the rear of the lift.
After that, plug the charger into the AC extension cord. Be sure you are charging in a place that is well ventilated and afterward plug the extension cord into an electrical outlet. In order to prevent accidental damage from being run over, the length of the electrical cord on the battery charger is purposely short. This is because if any excess length were to drop out of the battery charger storage place while in use, extreme danger can likely occur.
