Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck normally goes by other names like: Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie. These pieces of machinery are basically a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions and "Walkie" models.
Just as the name implies, the walkie model is designed for the operator to walk along with the unit as they transport loads. The Rider model on the other hand, utilizes a small platform for which the operator stands on. The rider models are ideal for frequent transporting of loads over extended distances within manufacturing applications and warehouses. They are really fast and maneuverable.
It is not recommended to pick up and move unstable or tall loads as there are no safety cages on these models. A rider can be the best answer if you are searching for an inexpensive way of moving loads from one place to another. If though, you must transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the right alternative.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This equipment is particularly made for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the load and the operator in order to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Normally, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle which can function in smaller aisles. They are very useful pieces of machinery in cycle counting situations as well as in physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more popular.
