Narrow Aisle Forklift

A narrow aisle forklift is used for lowering and lifting loaded pallets from high storage areas. This particular kind is recommended for work environments with narrow spaces between aisles, like warehouses or retail environments. The forklift has small, solid rubber tires that make maneuvering simple.



Usually, the operator of this particular kind of forklift stands up in a small cockpit. The stand-up design enables the narrow aisle forklift to be as short and narrow as possible. A stand-up cockpit forklift usually has three tires: one in the rear, and two in the front. This design enables for fast and easy maneuvering. There are some versions of these forklifts which come with a sit-down cockpit. The lift attachment is capable of pivoting to the sides, permitting the lift to be operated without the operator having to move the entire equipment. The sit-down version generally has four wheels.



An electric engine is utilized to power many narrow aisle forklifts. Machines which are electrically powered are quiet and do not produce exhaust fumes, making them the preferred option for closed areas such as retail spaces. Several lifts come with a diesel engine or a gas engine. Then again, the diesel version is not recommended for indoor application as it could be noisy and produce exhaust.
